Chiropractic + Back Pain Care in Overland Park, KS
Whether your back pain is new, keeps returning, or travels into your hip or leg, our Overland Park team starts by listening and evaluating the full picture.
Lower Back Pain, Recurring Pain + Sciatica
What is causing your back pain?
Back pain can involve the joints, muscles, spinal discs, or nerves—and sometimes more than one at the same time. The way it feels, where it travels, and what brings it on can help us understand what may be involved.
We begin with a conversation and a focused examination, not a preset treatment plan. The goal is to connect your symptoms with how you move and help you make sense of the next step.
What recurring back pain may be telling you.
Lower Back Pain
Aching, stiffness, or sharp pain around the low back that may change with sitting, standing, bending, or lifting.
Muscle + Joint Pain
Tightness, spasms, or restricted movement that makes everyday activity feel guarded or uncomfortable.
Disc + Nerve Symptoms
Pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness that may travel into the hip, buttock, or leg.
Recurring Back Pain
Pain that settles down temporarily, then returns with work, exercise, travel, or daily routines.
Back Pain Symptoms
Back pain does not always stay in the back.
Your symptoms may feel local, sharp, stiff, or travel into the leg. These are some of the patterns we may consider during your evaluation; more than one can be present.
Joint or Movement Restriction
Your back may feel stiff, guarded, or difficult to move after sitting, sleeping, lifting, or repeating the same activity.
Muscle Strain or Guarding
Overworked or protective muscles can create aching, tightness, spasms, or discomfort that changes with activity.
Disc-Related Irritation
Certain positions, bending, lifting, coughing, or prolonged sitting may increase pressure or sensitivity around a spinal disc.
Nerve Irritation
Pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness may travel into the hip, buttock, or leg when a nerve becomes irritated.
Strength or Control Changes
Your hips, core, and surrounding muscles may not be sharing the load well during lifting, walking, exercise, or work.
Repeated Stress
Long hours at a desk, physical work, training habits, or the same repeated movement can keep a sensitive area from settling down.
Persistent Pain
When pain has lasted for months, sleep, stress, confidence, activity changes, and previous experiences may all shape how it feels and how you move.
Non-Surgical Back Pain Care
Start with the least invasive care that makes sense.
Depending on your evaluation, your plan may combine chiropractic care, physical rehabilitation, spinal decompression, dry needling, or other recovery support. If imaging or a medical referral makes more sense, we will tell you clearly.
Care begins with understanding the full picture.

Care that meets kids where they are.
Pediatric Chiropractic Care
Kids deserve care that feels calm, clear, and made for them.
Children are not simply smaller adults. They move, grow, play, and communicate differently—and their care should reflect that.
Some kids need a minute before they are ready. That is okay. We take time to listen to the parent, help the child feel at ease, and explain what we are doing before we do it.
- A visit that moves at their pace
- Clear answers for parents
- Gentle, age-appropriate care when appropriate
Answers Before You Book
Questions about Back Pain care.
These are common starting questions. Your recommendations will still depend on your evaluation, history, and goals.
Non-surgical care may include chiropractic treatment, physical rehabilitation, spinal decompression, dry needling, or other recovery therapies. The right combination depends on your symptoms, examination, health history, and goals.
A chiropractor may be one appropriate starting point for many types of mechanical lower back pain. At Everwell, chiropractic care is not automatically the entire plan; we evaluate you first and may combine it with rehabilitation or another service when appropriate.
Not everyone needs imaging. We recommend it only when your history and examination suggest that it may provide useful information or help guide safe care. If imaging or another medical evaluation is needed, we will explain why.
Spinal decompression may be considered for some people with disc-related back pain or radiating symptoms. It is not appropriate for everyone, so we use your history and examination to decide whether it belongs in your plan.
Seek emergency medical care for back pain accompanied by new loss of bladder or bowel control, loss of feeling around the groin or saddle area, significant weakness or numbness in both legs, chest pain, or pain following a serious accident. Prompt medical evaluation is also important for severe pain that begins suddenly or worsens quickly, or back pain with fever, chills, unexplained weight loss, or feeling generally unwell.
